The Greshm Institute

The Greshm Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to to build an intellectual foundation for Universal Basic Income (UBI). We emphasize the effects of UBI on the economy as a whole and explore the idea of calibrating a UBI to promote human prosperity, financial stability, and the efficient allocation of labor and capital.

Who We Are

Alex Howlett

Alex is a researcher who has been studying UBI and the monetary economics of UBI since 2011. He is an expert on the Money View framework for understanding the economics of money and banking.

Philip Jackson

Philip Jackson is the Greshm Institute’s resident tech bro. He is an automation software engineer at a biotech startup with a PhD in machine learning. He has several peer reviewed publications in computer vision.

Derek Van Gorder

Derek Van Gorder is an independent scholar and filmmaker. He is currently writing a series of papers on the policy mechanics of UBI. He shares recorded discussions and debates about UBI on his YouTube channel.
